Welcome!
Here is the journal of a newlywed in her early 20's in Central Alberta, Canada. Moving to Calgary during August.
In September you will get to hear my ramblings about going to University also. I am in my 3rd year of Natural Sciences (minor: Biology and Chemistry). I switched programs after 2 years in the Education (teaching) program.
Mostly my daily happenings, as well as some articles and quotes I found interesting enough to share!
Hope you enjoy your stay, and please let me know you were here!

Im now trying to catch up on all the housework from the weekend...I promise to return later today
and do some catching up.
Just out blog hopping and found yours. I hope your wedding is everything you ever dreamed of. Stop in sometime!
Over the weekend we have been moving lots of our stuff to Calgary, which is good.
It is finally starting to sink in a bit that I won't be living here anymore. We moved as much as we could, that we won't need immediatley. My mom actually helped out a lot, which was nice. When Chris and I first moved in together, she didn't lift a finger or even offer to help. It's nice she's supportive this time.
The bummer was though, we got to the house, and it is a total mess!
Nothing was cleaned! So my mom and I cleaned all the cabinets (upstairs and down) and I cleaned the two bathrooms, except the tubs. It is so gross cleaning someone else's toilets.
Not impressed at all. I made a long list of everything wrong with the place, and not cleaned. There is still so much cleaning to do too. That's probably what I'll end up doing next weekend. Great! The garage is still full of shit from the last tenants too, and the landlord had better be getting rid of that. I am just so mad at how messy the house was left. And he had a week to clean up too! I really hope he shampoos the carpets upstairs, they're white and absolutely filthy. Not happy at all about the cleanliness issue. I will be telling the landlord that we're not cleaning anything when we leave, since it was such a mess when we had to move in.
The best thing about moving, is having so much more space! It is a 4 bedroom house, and that is HUGE, since we're coming from a 1 bedroom basement suite!
I'm so excited to have my own office!!! And it's downstairs, away from any distractions, which is good for when I need to be concentrating on a project or studying
. We have our spare bed in there also, which could be bad! I can see myself studying late, then just crawling into the spare bed to sleep, forgetting about Chris! It's definitly nice to have the extra bed, plus we have a futon dowstairs too. So when we have guests, they won't be sleeping on the couch or floor, like they had to here!
We finally got our wedding pictures back today
Yay!!!
There are so many really good ones!! I think my wedding day was the best day of my life! Honestly! It was just such a blast, and it was so nice to see so many people out, just to see us! There are 26 rolls of film
, so I don't even know how I'm going to narrow it down for an album! Should be interesting! I'm going to be giving out pictures to special people in frames, and even deciding which ones to choose for that will be hard. But it's a challenge I'll gladly do! I'm just in such a good mood after seeing those pictures, remembering what a good day that was!
Chris really didn't seem to care, which was disappointing, but he was also very tired and is already in bed (since 9:30!).
Anyways, I'm going to bed too...

First of all, thank you for saying such nice things about my blog! I always have been a "what you see is what you get" kind of person, ha! As to your house, I dunno if it's the same in Canada as it is here in the US but if this landlord has/is charging a Cleaning Deposit it I'd fight him tooth and nail over that one if your house wasn't move-in ready. THAT is disgusting!! 26 rolls of wedding picture film...well, I'd have as many albums as it takes to fill 'em up with ALL the photos, haha! Who says you need to narrow them down to just one? But then I've never followed the rules of conformity anyway. Your wedding pictures are for YOU to enjoy and I say enjoy 'em any old way you want to! I know you're fairly new to blogging...have you discovered Captain Canuck's All-Canadian blog ring yet?? He's such a great guy...he's from Calgary, too, and is a DJ on some radio station there. I don't have the link to his blog 'with me' to leave here for you, but if you go to my blog and check the Friends list on the right side bar, there is a link to his blog there. You'll find him to be a really nice guy, and his fellow Canadians are top notch, too. Have a good day, Brittany!
Took two days of scrubbing just to get the living room clean.
hope you have a great tuesday
